Toyota Prius (2003)

Hello again!!
Lets continue our session with the 2nd generation of Toyota Prius.. This model was a bit different from the previous. The vehicle was the second mass-produced hybrid on the American market, after the two-seat Honda Insight. While the larger Prius could seat five, its battery pack restricted cargo space. The vehicle interior featured a dash-mounted shift lever, and a small touch screen with a hybrid powertrain display. This feature showed the vehicle operation regarding the interplay between gasoline engine, battery pack, and electric motors, and could also show a bar graph of fuel economy results.

Further more, this model of prius was powered by a 1.5 liter 4 cylinder gasoline engine, a permanent magnet AC electric motor, and a 274-volt nickel-metal hydride (Ni-MH) battery pack. The gasoline engine developed 70 hp (52 kW) and 111 N·m of torque. The electric motor generated a maximum of 44 hp (33 kW) and 350 N·m of torque.

Lastly, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) classified the car as a Super Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (SULEV). Prius owners were eligible for up to a US$2,000 tax credit from their gross income. In contrast with the prior generation model, Toyota executives claimed that the company broke even financially on sales of the NHW11 Prius that cause them to stop the production.

Toyota Prius (1997)

Firstly, we want to introduce the first trial of Toyota Company in making the hybrid car. It first went on sale in Japan in 1997, making it the first mass-produced hybrid vehicle. It was subsequently introduced worldwide in 2001. The Prius is sold in more than 40 countries and regions, with its largest markets being those of Japan and North America. In May 2008, global cumulative Prius sales reached the 1 million vehicle mark, and by August 31, 2008, the Prius reached worldwide cumulative sales of 1.43 million units. This car was vulnerable to reduced performance in hotter climates and at higher altitudes. As a result, early examples featured an instrument-panel indicator warning should the hybrid system be in danger of shutting down. This gauge, designed in the shape of a turtle, was used until 1999.

Furthermore, advantage of this hybrid car are you did not have to plug in, have lighter batteries and the efficiency of creating energy on the spot, combined with the electric-car advantages of regenerative braking and coasting, and the emissions-reducing potential to have engines that stay at a single speed for relatively long periods of time.

Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R

Ninja ZX-10R is a proud product from Kawasaki Motor Company. It was released since 2004 with minor revisions in 2005, it combines ultra-narrow chassis, low weight, radial brakes, and strong engine make it a very competitive package for its Japanese rivals: Suzuki's GSX-R 1000, Honda's CBR1000RR and Yamaha Motor Company's R1. ZX-10R has engine capacity 998 cc on inline four-cylinder engine. With the crank axis, input shaft and output shaft are positioned in a triangular layout to reduce engine length. The ZX-10R engine one-piece cylinder and crankcase is reduces weight and increases rigidity. The DOHC system are machined from chromoly steel built for strength, lightweight pistons make the high heat resistance.

In 2004 and 2005 the ZX-10R won Best Superbike from Cycle World magazine and the prestigious international Masterbike competition. And on 2008, the new version of ZX-10R was launched. There has been a few modification change in appearance on the bike. Kawasaki has moved away from the twin-underseat exhausts of the 2006-07 model to a more conventional single side exhaust. The compression ratio of the engine has been raised so that the engine now produces from 188hp to 197hp.

History of Hybrid Car

Greetings everyone!! Today we want to introduce the next technology that the world have now...Everyone has their own vehicle right? Normally conventional vehicle using fuel that might cause pollutant to the environment. Do we have the alternative that might help our environment clean? Let finds out..hehe

Have anyone heard about HYBRID CAR?? Interesting name right? haha
A hybrid car is an automobile that has two or more major sources of propulsion power. Most hybrid cars currently marketed to consumers have both conventional gasoline and electric motors, with the ability to power the vehicle by either one independently or in tandem. These vehicles are appropriately termed as Hybrid-electric vehicle. A petroleum-electric hybrid most commonly uses internal combustion engines (normally gasoline or diesel engine, powered by a variety of fuels) and electric batteries to power electric motors. There are many types of petroleum-electric hybrid drivetrains, from full hybrid to mild hybrid, which offer varying advantages and disadvantages.

In late 1900, Ferdinand Porsche developed the first gasoline-electric series-hybrid automobile in the world, setting speed records using two motor-in-wheel-hub arrangements with a combustion generator set proving the electric power. The car created a press whirlwind, and news traveled as far as Britain, from where Lohner received their first order for an example. However, the car, ordered by a Luton dweller, was to be significantly different from the car shown at the Paris Expo. It had to be capable of running on petrol, as well as electricity, of carrying four passengers (the demonstrator was a two-seat, low slung type) and also had to be four-wheel drive. As a result, the final product was a monster - it required 1.8 tonnes of batteries consisting of a forty-four cell 80 volt lead battery, and cost a gigantic 15,000 Austrian Crowns. However, the car was completed on time, and was delivered personally by Porsche.

The exterior design also different in order to assist the aero function. In middle of 2009, Suzuki Motor Company developed the new bike which is similar with Hayabusa but in naked design. Naked bike refers to road motorcycles category but without fairing and customer can see the engine parts and frames. This bike called B-King, using the same engine as Hayabusa but with a different intake and exhaust piping. Reuters said this concept design will meet the market in this 2010.

Subaru Impreza WRX

Subaru is one of the fine engineered type of cars. This company are from Japan which called Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. The engine used different type of design other than usual cars called THE SUBARU BOXER Engine.. This engine give not just great horsepower ratings and smoking tires but driving experience that is graceful and engaging. Its a vehicle that secures you with its comfort, while at the same time inspiring you to step out of your comfort zone.

The engine was inspired by the design of airplane engines. Instead of pistons moving straight up and down, or at an angle like most engines, the pistons of the SUBARU BOXER® engine are laid flat and move parallel to the ground. The unique punch, counter-punch action is inherently smoother, and the low, horizontal layout is more balanced and stable. And what's more, its alignment allows us to feed power directly into the Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system with maximum efficiency.
